General Component Placement
- Select the pipeline, size and spec for the component: The specification may be set via the Standard Preferences dialog.
- Select the component: Piping components are accessed from one of the Piping Galleries.
- Define the Placement Point: The Placement Point is defined in the Place Component dialog which displays when the component is selected from the gallery.
- Pick the insertion point: There are several ways to specify the insertion point. You can use the Snap option to connect to an existing component, or, you can also designate a new point, or specify an insertion point that is a known distance from an existing point in the model.
- Specify the rotation: For bends, branching and asymmetrical components, you need to specify how the component is rotated.
